Doubler is a Persistent Team Power-up that will be carried by the player until they are fragged. Team Power-ups are not limited by time and grant their abilities passively. It doesn't drop from player when he or she is fragged, instead it reappears back at the team's base.
In Team Arena, the Doubler Power-up grants +100% damage bonus, but in Quake Live it is modified to grant a 50% damage bonus on every hit you score, also its name changed to Damage. In Quake 3 Team Arena it can be used for higher propelling Rocket Jumps, but at Quake Live blast force is capped. Therefore, it's no longer possible to do higher Rocket Jumps with Doubler or Quad Damage on Quake Live. Players generally prefer to use the Doubler with rapid dps or raw area blast weapons like Chain Gun or Rocket Launcher.
